Take your first lap around the velodrome with our introduction to track lessons. Accessible to people aged 12 and over, these two 2-hour sessions will give you a unique sporting experience. Accompanied by our coaches, you’ll have the chance to learn the basic rules and practice before moving on to the free sessions.

Discover the subtleties of track and velodrome cycling in a tried-and-tested setting.

This 2-hour immersive program takes you into the world of fixed-gear cycling, teaching you the basics of pedaling and the safety rules of the velodrome. Whether you’re a cyclist or not, you’ll learn to master the track lines and essential techniques in a safe environment. While this course won’t be enough to ride independently on the track, it ensures an exciting and rewarding sports experience.

During the high season, in the fall and winter, initiations are offered weekly. However, due to the summer session, initiations will take place once a month.

Requirements

  • 12 years of age or older
  • Be comfortable pedaling a road/gravel bike

*In the event that the coach judges that you have not acquired the necessary skills during the session, you will have to repeat your A initiation before continuing with the B initiation. Please note, however, that this is a rare occurrence.

Join our B initiation to prepare for group riding on the velodrome!

This course is perfect for learning to ride safely on the velodrome and for familiarizing yourself with the rules of paceline riding. and in a group.
The program includes pacelines, rotating pacelines with relay turns, and group riding techniques, all leading to your certification.*

Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of initiation A

    If you wish to pre-book your Initiation B (before completing your Initiation A), you can do so by calling us.

    *A minimum of 10 participants is required for the initiation to take place. The CNCB reserves the right to cancel a session due to lack of registrations.

    *Certifications are not guaranteed and are awarded at the coach’s discretion according to the B initiation criteria. In the event that the coach judges that you have not acquired the targeted skills during the course, you will have to retake your Initiation B course to be able to obtain your certification. Please note, however, that this is a rare occurrence.

    You’re coming from afar and would like to take both of your initiation courses during the same weekend?

    Our system does not allow you to book your Initiation B course until your Initiation A has been successfully completed. However, you can call us to book both courses at the same time.

    This way, you’ll be sure to have a spot in both initiations during the same weekend. However, please note that your participation in Initiation B is entirely dependent on the successful completion of Initiation A.

    This advanced course is designed for participants who have completed Initiation B and wish to refine and consolidate the techniques learned. Led by an experienced coach, you’ll hone your skills while preparing to join a track school or our open sessions.

    This unique program, which you can take multiple times, offers a continuous opportunity for progress in a structured and motivating environment.

      Do you have recent competition experience on another velodrome?

      This 20-minute certification is for those aged 12 and over who have competed in a national junior, elite, master or para championship within the last 3 years.

      This lesson validates the cyclist’s skills and knowledge Once the evaluation is completed, the cyclist will be certified to access group classes or free training on the track.

      Requirements

      • Have participated in a Junior, Elite, Master or Para National Championship within the last 3 years. Proof in support.
      • Holding a valid competitive track license for the current year
