You’ve tried our Freestyle Zone, but you’d like to refine your skills to progress safely?

Our beginners’ clinic, focusing on jumps and ramps, is designed for adults who want to perfect their freestyle skills. With the help of our experienced trainers, you will learn to climb up and down ramps safely, with or without coping, using a variety of techniques. This group clinic also aims to practice jumping technique, giving participants all the tools they need to progress at their own pace.

Goals

  • Confirm that the right basics have been acquired.
  • Climb up and down a ramp.
  • Practice proper jumping technique.

Beginner level

  • Never ridden in the Freestyle Zone before, but have an advanced level in mountain biking and on the pumptrack OR have ridden in the Freestyle Zone before, but lack the confidence to explore new projects.
  • Difficulty or inability to go up or down a ramp (quarter pipe).

Schedule

  • 9:30 am: participants arrive and check-in at the reception desk
  • 9:45am: welcome by trainer and equipment check
  • 10:00 am: start of clinic in the freestyle zone
  • 12:00: end of the clinic and after-bike at the HUB

Registrer

Note: A minimum of 5 participants is required to maintain the group. The CNCB reserves the right to cancel the session or regroup participants in the event of insufficient numbers.

This group is for young people aged 17 and under who are just starting out in BMX or who are still in the preliminary stages. You are considered a beginner if you have never ridden in the Freestyle Zone before, and if you can’t get up and down a quarter pipe with ease.

This program aims to give participants a solid confidence on their bikes while developing the fundamental skills needed to progress in the sport.

  • Mastering turns
  • Speed development
  • Choice of lines for safe, efficient progress.

Requirements

  • To be able to pedal standing up for 100m
  • Be able to ride in the pumptrack standing up without pedaling

Winter session – block 2

  • Session of 8 classes
  • March 13 to May 1, 2025
  • Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m.

  • Helmet (full-face strongly recommended)
