Initiation to the track
Certification processTake your first lap around the velodrome with our introduction to track lessons. Accessible to people aged 12 and over, these two 2-hour sessions will give you a unique sporting experience. Accompanied by our coaches, you’ll have the chance to learn the basic rules and practice before moving on to the free sessions.
Come and explore track cycling with our introductory A course! This immersive program teaches you the basics of pedaling a fixed-gear bike, while you discover the safety rules of the velodrome. Ideal for cyclists and non-cyclists alike, this 2-hour course will enable you to master the different track lines and essential techniques in a safe environment. This course is not sufficient to enable you to ride or train on the track independently, but it is a great sporting experience. This program includes :
- Bike loan for the duration of the course
- Loan of cycling shoes (you can use your own if compatible with Shimano SPD-SL road pedals)

*In the event that the coach judges that you have not acquired the necessary skills during the session, you will have to repeat your A initiation before continuing with the B initiation. Please note, however, that this is a rare occurrence.
Join our Initiation B course to discover the world of track cycling! This course is the perfect way to learn how to ride safely on the velodrome, and to familiarize yourself with the rules of the road. paceline “and in a peloton. On the program: pacelines, rotary pacelines with turn relay and group circulation techniques, all leading to your certification. Certifications are not guaranteed and are awarded at the discretion of the trainer based on the criteria for passing Initiation B. Prerequisites:
- Successful completion of initiation A
If you wish to pre-book your Initiation B (before completing your Initiation A), you can do so by calling us. *A minimum of 10 participants is required for the initiation to take place. The CNCB reserves the right to cancel a session due to lack of registrations.

Are you coming from far away and would like to do both your initiation courses on the same weekend? Our system doesn’t allow you to book your Initiation B course until your Initiation A has been successfully completed, but you can call us to book both courses at the same time. This will ensure that you have a place on both courses on the same weekend. Please note, however, that your participation in Initiation B depends entirely on the success of your Initiation A. As a guide for Fall 2024, here are the dates when it’s possible to take Initiation A and Initiation B on the same weekend*:

This refresher course is designed for participants who have completed initiation B and wish to deepen and consolidate the techniques acquired during this course. Supervised by an experienced trainer, you’ll hone your skills while preparing to join a track school or our free sessions. This unique program, which you can take several times, offers you a continuous opportunity to progress in a structured and motivating environment. Prerequisites :
- Successful completion of initiation A and B
This 20-minute certification is for those aged 12 and over who have competed in a national junior, elite, master or para championship within the last 3 years. This lesson validates the cyclist’s skills and knowledge Once the evaluation is completed, the rider will be certified to access group classes or free training on the track.
Prerequisites
- Have participated in a Junior, Elite, Master or Para National Championship within the last 3 years. Proof in support.
- Holding a valid competitive track license for the current year
*Note: The track bike location is not included in the Fast Certification pricing.
